A Series of Haiku

By Jess Jordan

Park
grass danced in the breeze
birds perched on branches
brown bark coated in white

Beach
people bathing in the sun
covered in grains of dirty sand
forecast shows a tsunami approaching

Highway
golden hair blowing in the wind
speeding down the dark asphalt
a memory soon forgotten

Forest
tree branches wave
to the small birds flying high
shot down by the hunter

Backyard
the child gallops
through the pile of mud
left by the dog
